This is your third Group Assignment. You can refer to the syllabus for the specific criteria/expectations of video assignments with conversational partners and submitting appropriate videos. All videos should be recorded in LANDSCAPE mode on your mobile cell phones. ***Avoid Portrait/upright recording***
You will need to ask for help, and that is a good thing. More important than knowing when to ask for help, is knowing how to ask for help. In this assignment you will practice asking for help from your group conversational partners.
On page 101 in your book they describe situations where you may need to ask for assistance. Use these ideas as a guideline. Then come up with three real or make believe requests to ask of your conversational partners. Make three requests for something. Your partners may agree to the request, but on one condition. For example "I will help you assemble your bookshelf...but only if you buy pizza for us to eat." Your partners may also not agree to help you, but they must supply you with a reason why not.
You will make three requests total, one request to each partner in your group. You will need to respond to each request made of you from your partners. You may find it helpful to watch the videos on the DVD to get a better idea of how to clearly make requests in ASL (and how to respond).
